Stevie Wonder-3-819x1024Stevie Wonder, who had left MoTown in 1970 to make two separate albums for himself, was shocked to learn of this. Berry Gordy was stunned to hear this from Stevie Wonder. Berry Gordy signed Stevie Wonder's request for greater independence, full creative control and the right to all his songs. In 1972, Stevie Wonder returned to MoTown records and signed a thirteen million dollar contract with MoTown Records. Stevie Wonder was entitled to more royalty as well as greater creative control and rights over his songs. This was a unique chance for artists of the time. This contract unleashed Wonder's songs to discuss controversial issues such as poverty,war,drugs as well as politics.Stevie is famous for his political songs , such as You Haven't Done Nothing, which was a political attack at Richard Nixon. In 1972 the singer came out with Music Of My Mind, his first album under the brand new MoTown agreement. Talking Book, Stevie Wonder's 1972 album, stands as a landmark in the history of rock music. This album included the biggest hit-song, Superstition.
